FAQs

Is there an requirement for Mom itemised payslip?

From 1 April 2016, all employers must issue itemised pay slips to employees covered by the Employment Act. Here are the detailed requirements such as what items to include, when and how to give them.

How often do I need to pay my employees

Salary must be paid:

Within 7 days after the end of the salary period
For overtime work, within 14 days after the end of the salary period

Do I need to track my employee leaves? Can I just forfeit all unused annual leave at year end?

If the employees are covered under Part IV of the Employment Act (i.e. a workman earning a monthly basic salary of $4,500 or less, or non-workman earning a monthly basic salary of $2,600 or less), the company must allow you to carry forward any unused annual leave to the next 12 months.

Can I don’t contribute CPF for my employees? I just pay them the salary and they contribute CPF themselves?

Where is an employer-employee relationship, i.e. a contract of service, CPF contribution is compulsory.

If they are a sub-contract i.e. a contract for service, CPF contribution is not required.

You can refer to MOM’s website to determine whether is it a contract of service or a contract for service.
